• Dr Abi T G has been an Assistant Professor in the PG & Research Department of Chemistry, Sacred Heart College, Thevara, since 2013.
• He completed his PhD in theoretical and computational chemistry from IIT Kharagpur in 2011 under the guidance of Prof. Srabani Taraphder.
• He completed his postgraduate studies in chemistry at MK University Madurai in 2003 and his graduation in education at MG University Kottayam in 2004.
• He is a recognised research guide in chemistry at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Under his supervision one student completed and 5 students are pursuing. PhD
• He is the coordinator of the research centre, Heartian Centre for Molecular Modelling (HCMM), at Sacred Heart College Thevara.
• His research focused on computational chemistry, drug design, quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics and steered molecular dynamics.
• He has published 15 SCI journals
• He is teaching physical and theoretical chemistry for BSc and MSc courses.
• He is the coordinator and investigator of the DST FIST Project-2018 (sanctioned amount: 1 crore 10 lakhs) of 4 science departments of SH College.
• He is the course coordinator of the UGC-approved certificate course in computer-aided drug design run by the PG & Research Department of Chemistry.
• He delivered more than 50 invited talks and hands-on training workshops in computational chemistry and drug design.
• He is a consultant in computational quantum chemistry, drug design, molecular docking, QSAR, protein modelling, molecular dynamics and steered molecular dynamics.
• He is a Board of Studies Member of the Department of Chemistry of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) Thevara from 2014 onwards and Vimala College Autonomous Thrissur from 2023 onwards.
• He is the Coordinator of the Consultancy (Services & Revenue) Committee of Sacred Heart College Thevara from 2024 onwards.
• He is a Subject Expert Committee Member constituted by Kannur University 27/11/2020 for framing of regulations, curriculum and syllabus of new generation courses sanctioned in Govt/Aided Colleges, particularly in MSc Chemistry – Drug Chemistry Specialisation.
• He is a question paper setter, subject expert panellist, and practical examiner in various institutions at MG University Kottayam and Calicut University, particularly in the topics of computational chemistry, quantum chemistry, group theory, and physical chemistry.
• He was the DQAC Coordinator of the Department of Chemistry of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) from 2014-2018.
• He was the coordinator of Science Academics Lecture Workshop in Computational Quantum Chemistry jointly organized by the Indian Academy of Sciences and PG/Research Dept. of Chemistry SH College. Thevara held from January 5^th to 7th, 2017.
• He is a Doctoral Scrutiny Committee Member of a PhD student of Kerala Technical University 2023 onwards
• He was the Staff Representative (2014-15) and Staff Secretary (2023-24) of Sacred Heart College Thevara.
• He was the Coordinator of the Speakers Forum and Literary Fest Sargapatham of Sacred Heart College Thevara from 2014 to 2020.
